Joke

Q. Why did the pony have a sore throat?
A. He was little horse.

This blog is about my life with horses (and everything to do with horses) .

I was very lucky to be born into a horse family. I grew up with horses from very young, practicing natural horsemanship. We bred welsh ponies in Africa and my first pony was a Section A Welshie called Princess Tinkerbell of Tansy. She was pure white and adorable. I won loads of ribbons on her for showing and dressage. We also used to do a lot of long distance riding and endurance. Endurance people are the best people in the world. When I got a bit bigger, I moved onto a part bred welsh mare and I also had a friesan. We had a few arabs and part arabs and about 20 welsh Section B's which I used to ride and train. I learned how to gentle foals very early and used to sleep cuddled up to foals in the hot African sun or on the back of my favourite stallion, Prince Cassy. I grew up with horse breeding, foals, stallions and mare all together in a herd. We used to run a horse riding centre in Africa with 58 stables and areas. There were awesome long rides into the country and horses were our lives. Now we live in the Uk and breed another kind of native pony and we have a stallion, 3 mares and 3 foals. They live in the hills in a natural was as a herd and its a beautiful way to live. We get to ride on the beach and run in the hills. In summer the fields are a mass of wild flowers and its stunning. We also do sailing, kayaking and other stuff. Horses are my life. Where we live now I dont get to compete hardly at all but living with ponies, wild in the hills is amazing and an experience of a life time. I still get to gentle foals, break in horses, gallop, jump. There are no stables, no dressage arena and no painted jumps but there is nature as far as the eye can see and life is one big giant xcountry course :) Riding ponies bareback with a halter and galloping full speed on the beach or amoungst the wild flowers is one of the best things a girl could do.
